The Moine hut is an unguarded public hut located in Vieu-d'Izenave, in the Ain department. It is maintained by the French National Forestry Office (ONF).

At the top of a forest path that starts from the small road on the right when arriving from the ruins of the Meyriat abbey. Road closed to motorized traffic.
ONF hut in perfect condition. Includes two picnic tables inside. No sleeping space provided, it is not intended for this use. The main advantage of this hut is the wood stove! There are dry toilets 30 meters uphill. A stream runs nearby. Water is available further up, near the ruins of the old Meyrat abbey, where (100 meters on foot) there are picnic tables and a sculpture of the converted monk... Outdoor fire grill (circle). Awning under which one or two hammocks can be set up. Take your waste back with you. We hope that disrespectful users will not force the ONF to close this beautiful hut to the public.
