Alpes de Haute-Provence. Verdon / Asse area. Commune of Senez (enclave). Mapping: IGN 1:25000 sheet 3441 east "Digne". Locate the D.17 road between the Asse and Verdon valleys. From north to south, after passing Palus (hamlet), you reach a gorge carved into a limestone bar (Pont du Pas d'Escale). From there, follow tracks heading southeast beyond the Preynes farm to the pass just behind which stands the village of Le Poil. Other access routes are possible, including a trail (intermittent yellow markings) coming from the north via the ruined village of Creisset, starting further upstream on the Asse river, left bank, after crossing a metal footbridge located almost opposite the bridge at elevation 647.9 m. (area accessible by the Digne-Nice metre-gauge railway: Chemin-de-Fer-de-Provence ...highly recommended!!)
