Along the R.D. 900, between the Clues de Barles and du Péouré, a bridge is marked at 866 m. on IGN 1:25000 3439 ET. Just upstream from this bridge and on the NE flank of the road, a tiny trail climbs steeply in switchbacks, roughly NNE, through scrubland and bushes up to about 1000 m. There, after a bend, it heads E/ESE, ascending regularly. At around 1150 m, it goes around a steep section, partly cut into a corbel, with old metal anchors (remains of a handrail) that one should not rely on too much. The slight overhang of this section can pose a risk when wet. After this passage, having skirted a ravine in a slanted path and made three or four switchbacks, it ascends regularly ENE, through woods and scrub, to the small terraces covered in grass where the ruins of the hamlet stand, of which the shelter is a survivor.
This stone cabin, which was still standing in the early 1990s, offered a spartan but solid shelter, a possible base for crossing the Blayeul, for example. And the place, shaded, is a delight when it's hot. Things may have worsened, just as they may have improved... No sleeping platforms, no fireplace, and I don't remember there being any furniture. Small nearby spring (a more precious advantage than anything else!), well-fed in spring, probably later as well, given that a village once stood there. No equipment. Wood nearby. Average insulation. REMAINS TO BE CONFIRMED THAT THIS SHELTER IS STILL STANDING...!!
