From France, Sentein, Biros valley, drive to the end of the road, several parking areas, Bocard d'Eylie, many abandoned former mining barracks. The Eylie hostel is not far away (visible a little higher up, on the GR10 which you will cross, then head due south on the path on the right bank of the stream, then footbridge (signposted ...). From Spain, you will need to cross the Port d'Urets, via the Montgarri or Salardu track (Val d'Aran). From the Étang d'Arraing refuge (Jacques Husson refuge), a balcony path (EDF) allows you to cross the entire north face of the Pic Maubermé horizontally and reach the dam. This unstaffed hut adjoins the reserved (closed) hut of the local shepherd, at the foot of the Port d'Urets where you will find the [->4915].
- Always open - Excellent insulation (but noisy in high winds ...) - No dishes - 1 table, 2 benches - 4 mattresses (3 on the upper level) - 2 blankets in average condition, bring a sleeping bag. - The large mattress downstairs is in very poor condition, the ones upstairs are better, but bring a mattress if there are more than 3 people ... - Water in the small stream descending to the dam, several springs when ascending from Bocard d'Eylie.
