From the Nordic site of Herbouilly, descend northwest diagonally towards Favier. Then take the very beautiful but vertiginous Chemin de la Pia leading to the Pas de Saint-Martin (paragliding take-off area). Continue along the ledge northwards to quickly find the shelter. You can make a nice loop by continuing in this direction (nice view of the Vierge du Vercors) then turning east into the Bois des Tenailles. After crossing the D221, you come out onto the magnificent prairie of Herbouilly. At its southern end, a track brings you back to the Nordic site.
If one wants to give the term "rudimentary shelter" its full meaning, one only needs to take a look at this odd little shack perched on a ledge. Given its limited space, it is surprising to find a two-person sleeping platform and an extremely minimalist table, which serves more as a footrest for the upper bunk than anything else. But beware: if you have the harebrained idea of spending the night here, you must not exceed 1.80 m in height for the top bunk and 1.60 m for the bottom one, must not be overweight, and must not be claustrophobic. It is not windproof as daylight can be seen through the planks of the walls, but it does not leak water. However, beware of potential runoff along the rock face. The door closes well from the outside, but less easily from the inside.
