- From the south: Take the D939 (which passes in front of the Rio Sourd waterfall) towards Glandage. Continue straight ahead at the road junction to the village of Borne. Parking is 350 m after the hamlet exit (beware in winter: this is where the snowplow makes its U-turn...). A marked trail leads up to the Refuge de La Tour in 1 hour 30 minutes. Well signposted. Admire the vertical blades of the "Sucettes de Borne" along the way. - From the north: At the Col de Menée, take a pastoral road heading southeast to the Jiboui cabin. From there, head south-southeast to the Col de Jiboui, where a trail descends to the hut. Approximately the same walking time.
Guarded hut open from July 1st to September 1st. You can stay one or more nights, with or without breakfast, half board or full board - but also just a drink or a snack (very popular with children). There is a winter room, separate from and adjacent to the hut, on the right side, in the form of a single-storey building with: 5 places on wooden bunks. New stove that heats very well. Several mattresses (at least 5). Wood reserve (the quantity does not mean excess!!!). Spring + basin 5 meters away. BBQ grills + broom + 1 hand shovel and a snow shovel (outside). No saw or axe. Absolute quiet. Close carefully. Mobile network: Progress has been made, 50% signal (Orange) in front of the cabin, but none inside. Check their website, linked.
