Good to know

Former forestry house, a key resistance site during World War II, later turned into a shepherd's house in the 1950s and then a mountain hut. Closed in 2022 for renovation work, the Gîte d'Aire de Côte has been welcoming hikers, horse riders and cyclists again since 1 July 2025. Renovated building of 800 m²: 36 beds, restaurant. 1 dormitory reserved for women and 2 mixed dormitories, each with 6 to 9 beds, showers, toilets and washbasins. A sleeping bag or sleeping bag liner is required. Bivouac reserved for hikers without a vehicle, for up to 20 people or 6 tents (available for rent), with a dry room with equipped kitchen and wood stove, dry toilets and washbasins. Be aware of the limited water supply. The Pouset spring is drying up and prevented the hut from reopening in spring 2024. During drought periods, the hut operates exclusively from its 120 m³ tank.
