Access from the Val Montjoie either from Champel (the easiest) or Gruvaz on the right bank of the Miage torrent, or from the village of Contamines-Montjoie (Frasse car park) via [->392]. It can also be reached from Bionnassay or the Col de Voza/Bellevue area via the Col de Tricot to the north.
Former alpine farm dating from 1800 located at the chalets of Miage, in the lower part of the Miage pastures, dominated by the domes and the Miage glacier. Guarded in summer, no winter hut. Open from early May to late September. 47 beds in 3 dormitories of 4, 8 and 18 beds, 2 double rooms, 1 room with two single beds, 1 triple room, 3 huts for 2 to 9 people with sanitary facilities. In dormitories and rooms, duvets, sheets and pillows are provided. Sanitary facilities are somewhat rustic but with hot water. Rates (2024): Half-board in dormitory 70€/person, 45€/-12 years; half-board in room 80€/person, 55€/-12 years; half-board in hut 90€/person, 55€/-12 years; accompanying person half-board 35€; packed lunch 10€. Half-board includes dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. Meals à la carte at midday and evening, evening menu 20€. Payment in cash or bank cheque, no credit cards. Near the hut, at [->7822], there is a free bivouac area with toilets. Stage on the Tour du Mont-Blanc (variant via Col de Tricot) or on the GRP Tour du Pays du Mont-Blanc, but also a very popular day-hiking destination from Champel, especially for families. Expect to see many people there. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
