From the couloir du Porc on the junction between the Viso refuge and the Giacoletti refuge, head due north along the trail that winds through the scree on the western slope towards the summit of Punta Venezia. The hut is located on a small plateau about 20m below the summit cross. (45min from the couloir du Porc)
This miniature hut (2m*1.5m) is said to have originally been a former military surveillance post on the Franco-Italian border (also called bivacco dei Amici del CAI Cavour). Relatively adequate insulation (wood covered with sheet metal). Extremely limited space, 2 rather short bunks (1.80m), consider an alternative solution if the hut is occupied (Giacoletti Refuge). 50cm width between the bunks and limited height (1.50m). Frequent passage of ibex near the hut.
