Access: from Crévoux (ski touring route no. 17 from the resort) or La Chalp (650 m of elevation gain via the vertical kilometre).
The Cabane de la Ratelle consists of two parts: - The higher part (at a higher altitude) is the most recent one. This part is supposedly closed, but this needs to be verified. It is certain that during the summer grazing period (May - October) it is occupied by a shepherd and is therefore not accessible. - The lower part is accessible. It can accommodate 5 to 10 people. Inside, there is no equipment except for a bigbag. It is in a decent condition. The windows are boarded up. There seems to be an upper floor that could be accessible to animals. However, there were no traces of animals when we were there. Apart from the concrete floor, which is quite cold, heat (from the body or from a gas cartridge) seems to be well retained. Additional information about the lower part (the accessible one): Water nearby: Unknown Toilets: No Stove: No Fireplace: No (it exists but is likely to have been blocked) Forest nearby: Yes (100 m lower)
