The hut is located 200 m north of the GR101 at the Col du Prat du Rey, slightly upstream from it.
The hut is built of solid materials and is in very good condition. It contains a broom, a small table, two chairs, four foam mattresses and various small items such as batteries, tea, containers, etc. There is a solid wooden platform for sleeping. There is no upper floor. There is a fireplace, but no wood is available in the immediate vicinity of the hut. There are water sources nearby (see IGN map), but they are difficult to find and their flow is very low in summer (about 1 litre in 30 minutes). Purify the water before drinking, as the sources are located in pastures.
