Good to know

Located in a clearing, this hut is said to date back to 1875 according to the story of the Comte de Saint-Ferriol. It was remarkably renovated from 2012 to 2016 by the association "les sentiers de Saint-Martin-d'Uriage". Note that the roof was painted thanks to a grant from the Isère Department. The sense of isolation would be most palpable if the road to Chamrousse were not just a stone's throw away. On the ground floor: two benches, a small table, a barbecue, a broom, a fireplace and a guestbook. The room is rather dark with a single window without glazing but including a shutter. The entrance door can be locked from the outside. The upper floor serves as a dormitory, accessible by a ladder. The insulation is adequate. April 2019: 1 mattress (can sleep 3 people) ---> mattress has been missing since then. Outside: a picnic table, a fountain with its beautiful wooden basin, a bench near the entrance door. Autumn 2017: the hut was equipped with outdoor "T'alouettes" (see comments for an explanation of this poetic term).
