Parking at Grand Thiervoz (1050 m). Follow the track along the Grande Valloire stream, then a trail. Be careful in autumn when the ground is wet and therefore slippery.
Basic shelter featuring: a stove (2025), a table made from a large flat stone slab, a saw (2025). The mattresses are raised off the ground on a kind of loft about 1 m high. Insulation appears to be very poor. The shelter is very rustic. Little paper and almost no tools or utensils. The fountain is located nearby, close to the private/closed chalet used by the shepherd himself, near toilets that can be used to avoid turning the surroundings into minefields. Good starting point for ski touring.
