At the Georges Plaisance crossroads on the forest road between Dole and Vieille Loye, second column of the Grand Contour.

Good to know

Close to the chêne Notre Dame de Chaux. Some oaks were worshipped during pagan times. They were Christianised by incorporating a statue of the Virgin into a notch in the wood. Six sacred oaks are still visible in the Chaux forest. In keeping with this tradition, the people of Chaux installed a Virgin statue in this tree in 1993. Also close to the Chênaie du Souvenir. 12,000 oaks planted to commemorate the centenary of the First World War in 2014.
