Good to know

The winter refuge of Cortalets is a separate building from the CAF refuge, which is only open outside the CAF refuge's staffed period, i.e. from mid-October to the end of May. Damage reported in April 2025. The information may not be up to date. If you stay there, please provide feedback on refuges.info. Ground floor: large fireplace, tables, benches. Upper floor: 19 bunk bed places with mattresses. For water: go upstream on the right bank of Lac des Estagnols to find a PVC pipe outlet, overflow of the Perdrix spring (water not tested).
