Via GR10: 3h30 walk from Banyuls-sur-Mer and 4h from the Col de l'Ullat (follow Puig Neulós). Yellow PR: 3h30 from Argelès-sur-Mer (follow the tour de la Massane) and 2h from Col de Banyuls. Note that Puig Sallfort, where the hut is located, is 10 m lower than the highest point to the north.
Restored in 2021 after a fire. Often fully booked due to only 2 indoor places. Outside, slightly sheltered from the wind (only tramontane), a terrace has been built to accommodate two tents. Otherwise, go to the barraques des Colomates, about 40 minutes' walk west. A few blankets and a first aid kit are available inside. For water, go BEFORE ascending Sallfort to the Ravaner spring (ascent from Banyuls) or to the Massane river via a filter (ascent from Argelès/Colomates). Fires are prohibited!
