From Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, drive up the road towards Le Châtelard, then take the track towards the guarded Gittamelon refuge. At around 1720 m altitude, head west along the path to the Col du Châtelard (steep section). At around 1820 m altitude, cross the stream towards the chalets.
Hunter's shelter near the alpagiste's cabin: It has 4 places (comfortable mattresses) and a new stove that heats up quickly and works well. The rest of the equipment is basic, with almost nothing for cooking. However, it is comfortable and well insulated. At the end of 2024, the chalet is no longer accessible, but it will be accessible again in spring 2025: the building intended for the shepherd is separate from the cabin.
