Access

Climb up the Vallée des Avals to the fork in the track (the right-hand one leads to the Grand Plan refuge among others), then continue straight ahead, passing the private chalet of the Grande Val. The track then makes a wide bend to climb up to the Chalets de la Petite Val. Several ruins and a shelter in good general condition can then be found (marked as a Cave).

There is a fountain nearby. No stove or firewood for heating.
