Just south of the Col de Thorens, facing the glacier de Chavière below, at the level of the arrival of the former chairlift that has been dismantled.
The building resembles an old high-altitude restaurant, now closed due to lack of skiers following the closure and dismantling of the Col chairlift. The wooden building has suffered from lack of maintenance, weathering and the weight of snow: it is collapsing, the entire structure is leaning forward, the foundations do not appear very stable (consequence of melting permafrost?). The door is open but you have to climb to enter inside. Windows are broken, belongings and bottles are scattered everywhere, a visit to this building resembles urbex but at over 3000m altitude. Given the building's condition, it is unusable, its total collapse seems imminent and it is best to hope that no one is inside at that time.
