Access

The quickest route is to start from the Col du Chaussy (20-minute walk for 90 m of elevation gain) by following an alpine track. However, to add more substance to the hike, here are other options: - Departure from Montbrunal via Fragnin (620 m of elevation gain). - Departure from Montaimont via the hamlets of Le Fay and La Colonne. A loop is possible by descending back to Col du Chaussy and the hamlet of Les Mottes (900 m of elevation gain in total). - And the "hardcore" hikers can start from St-Avre for 1150 m of elevation gain.

Good to know

One of the most charming cabins located on a site between alpine pasture and forest. It consists of three rooms: the main room with a table, three benches and a stove, a wood storage room and a dormitory accessible by a few outdoor steps. The dormitory is simply a floor covered with straw. The insulation is good. Note that there is no interior latch on the main room door and one of the panes in the only window is cracked. A fountain and a picnic table are located nearby.
