Half an hour south of Col de la Cochette.
A group of 2 old chalets (one is the barn, the other the former dwelling house) which seems to have been abandoned for quite some time. It's a shame, as it could make a very good shelter with a little time and effort to tidy up and clean the mess (the word is an understatement) found inside. Nevertheless, it remains accessible (no prohibition signs at the entrance) and can serve as a good shelter for sleeping if you settle for the bare minimum. Inside, a large main room with a table, a few chairs and quite a bit of odds and ends. Three other rooms on the ground floor (one with an ancient stove whose operation is doubtful), another being a small bedroom with two "period" beds. Another small room along the side of the chalet. Upstairs, a small bedroom with two more "beds" (or what's left of them), and a little space in the eaves, but it's filled with indescribable junk... Outside, under the refuge, another room is also accessible, with a dirt floor, probably an old cellar. There is also the former small cheese-ripening room. A small pipe comes out of the south-east corner of the refuge and delivers a very thin trickle of water, but it probably doesn't flow all the time (and certainly not in winter).
