Within less than 2 hours from [->44], to the north. It takes more than 2h30 when coming from [->412], above Presle, to the west. This hut is half an hour from [->86], or more than an hour from [->64], via the col de la Perche.
There is a fountain in front of the building on [->10286] (see its details, in winter it does not always flow), latrines a little further south. The ground floor room is well lit thanks to numerous windows, the sleeping area on the upper floor is in the loft. Very good comfort for an open hut, correct insulation on the ground floor, some drafts upstairs. The town hall (and especially its staff) does a great job. Often busy on weekends in good weather, many flat spots around the hut to pitch tents. Equipment available on site at the end of 2024: a stove with 4 cooking spots, 1 large table for 12 people and benches, wood stock usually refilled at the end of autumn by the town hall, 14 mattresses a bit old to shake before use on the upper floor, numerous utensils, pots, cutlery, teapot, a saw (and a broken axe to repair), 3 worn blankets, 1 broom and a dustpan in steel, BBQ grills, dish soap and candles, 2 parasols. Equipment available on site in 2021: a broken plastic drying rack, wires to hang laundry above the stove. Mobile network: works a little higher up near the sign, low connectivity but sufficient for calls and messages. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
