From the D16 road that passes near the Ballon de Servance, take the GR trail towards the Ballon d'Alsace. After about 1 km, turn left onto the GR7/GR533 (marked by a green rectangle), the hut is about 100 m away. From the Ballon d'Alsace, take the GR trail towards Col du Stalon/Ballon de Servance, pass Col du Stallon, then Col du Luthier, and shortly after this col, turn right onto the GR7.
A large table, 2 benches, and a superb view of the Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle valley. Water point just next to the hut. Hut equipped with an axe, broom, and stove. The regulations of the nature reserve prohibit camping and bivouacking. Therefore, it is forbidden to sleep inside or near the Abri Sailley. A sign attached to the back of the building reminds of this regulation.
