Accessible from La Bresse via Moyenmont, which overlooks the town. You will need to follow the "Collet de l'Etang" sign. Allow about an hour's walk from the town. There are also other small secondary trails that start from the Vologne valley and lead to the collet. However, the most interesting option is to start from La Bresse.
Good refuge, clean, fairly well insulated. There are three tables, a functional fireplace, and grills for cooking. There is a small fountain five to ten minutes away, I don't remember the exact name, but it is marked near the refuge, you cannot miss it. You can go further to the chaume des champis a little further on, which offers a stunning view of the Hohneck ridge. There is also the pretty little étang de la Cuve below.
