Access

The refuge is accessible by car in summer: - From the South (Val Chisone), take the road/track starting from Dépôt (between Fenestrelle and Mentoulles). - From the North (Val Susa), via the Colle delle Finestre 2176, starting from Susa/Meana di Susa. For hikers: - From the South (Val Chisone) starting from Fenestrelle/Dépôt/Mentoulles/Villaretto ... numerous trails lead up to the refuge. - From the East, starting from the Balma CAI refuge, passing via Col Robinet (bivouac at the summit of Mont Robinet south of the pass). - From the [->5354], take the trail south via Colle del Sabbione (Tour de l'Orsiera trail). - From the [->5353], head towards Colle del Orsiera; the correct path is on the right (not visible from below), a trail rutted by cows ... leading to Colle del Orsiera 2595m, then climb east to the col (almost a gap, via a very steep scree couloir) separating the North 2890m and South 2878m peaks of the Orsiera. These two summits above the col are rocky and difficult to reach (especially the North ... requiring climbing). Descend the other side via another steep, earthy couloir to reach Lac del Ciardonnet 2560, then head south towards the refuge.
