From the passo de los caballos, where there is another unmanned cabin, take the track that leaves the GR. The refuge is less than 1 km away, next to the Urdiceto lake.
Incredible unmanned cabin (or rather refuge). It used to be a staffed refuge or a building that served the nearby dam. Now access is free. There is a ground floor with three tables and benches fixed to the floor as well as a stove. Upstairs, there are clean and comfortable bed bases and mattresses. You can probably sleep 16 people just on the mattresses upstairs, so you can even sleep more with your own mattresses. The cabin is very clean and healthy, the floor is tiled. This refuge has great potential, please take care of it! For water, there is the nearby lake and streams that feed the lake at its southwest end (see photo). No wood nearby.
