This hut was built in 1989 by an association to shelter those who light the 1st August fire on the nearby summit. Indeed, in Switzerland, on Swiss National Day (1st August), it is a tradition to light fires on prominent points. The hut is accessible all year round except on 31st July, when, for the reasons stated above, it is reserved exclusively for members of the association. There is no warden, but an association member is regularly present on weekends. As this hut is in high demand, it is advisable to book your overnight stay. No meals or drinks are available, but you can cook on the wood stove, and there is a fountain with drinking water. Prices: Payable on site if an association member is present, otherwise by payment slip. Non-members: CHF 20.- (CHF 10.- for under 14s). Members: CHF 10.-. Wood use: CHF 5.-.
