The Alpe Sponda refuge is a staffed mountain hut located in the canton of Ticino, managed by Manzo Mario. It is publicly owned and situated in the municipality of Faido.

Access

Good to know

The Alpe Sponda hut is located in the vast basin of Val Chironico. Built in 1948 and expanded in 1959, the hut was completely destroyed by an avalanche in 1975; it was quickly rebuilt and then modernized and expanded again in 2012. In winter, partial openings (please inquire with the manager). 14 beds, water and electricity from solar melting. Rates and booking on the official website (in Italian).
