The non-guarded Schutzhütte Surenen Eggen cabin is located in the municipality of Isenthal, in the canton of Uri. It is situated on the western slope of the Surenenpass pass.

The cabin is located about 200 m south of the Surenenpass pass, on its western slope, along the access trail to the pass from Engelberg. It is therefore on the stage of the Swiss Via Alpina route connecting Engelberg to Altdorf.
Cabin in good condition, clean (summer 2022), in a superb environment. Table and benches, no other real equipment. Door closes well, one window facing west. Equipment related to alpine farming may have been stored there; please be careful. This cabin appears to be very well maintained, with a very clean floor, which is appreciated; please keep it in this state.
