Access

By road: exit the A9 motorway at Martigny and head towards Salvan. In Salvan, follow the sign for Vallon de Van and continue to the Van d'en Haut campsite. Take the small wooden bridge on your left and continue to the clearing to park your vehicle. From there, it is a 1h30 walk to the inn. By rail: from Martigny main station, take the regional train Martigny-Châtelard to Les Marécottes. From there, it is a 3h walk to the inn. Alternatively, take the bus which takes you to the Van d'en Haut campsite. On foot: From Salvan via the Gorges du Dailley and Van d'en Haut, 3h35 From Mex via Col du Jorat, 4h. From Les Marécottes via Col de la Golette, 5h. From Champéry via Col de Susanfe, 5h

Popular starting point for hikes. Located on the Tour des Dents du Midi 100 dormitory places with duvets 20 rooms with duvets, bath towels and running water Showers The Salanfe inn closes at the beginning of October. A small, basic winter refuge with 6 places then opens. This refuge has no running water and no sanitary facilities. It is equipped with blankets. An electric cooker is available (CHF 1 coins are required to operate it). The overnight stay costs CHF 10, payment slips are available at the hut. Stage hut for the Tour des Dents du Midi (GR5 variant), the Tour de la Vallée du Trient, the Tour du Ruan, the long-distance trail Chemin des cols alpins, the Via Alpina, and the newly launched Tour des deux Rives.
