The Chalet des Pralets is located roughly halfway between the Marchairuz Pass (12 km) and the Givrine Pass (8 km) in the Jura Vaudois (Switzerland). In winter, the only way to reach it is on foot. A cross-country ski trail connects these two passes and passes in front of the chalet. From the Swiss Plateau or French Alps: Take the Geneva-Lausanne motorway and exit either at Nyon to reach the Col de la Givrine (via St-Cergue) or at Gland to reach the Col du Marchairuz (via St-Georges). From the French Jura: Either go to the Col du Marchairuz via Le Brassus (Vallée de Joux) or to the Col de la Givrine via Les Rousses and La Cure.
Services during staffed periods: The snack bar offers (subject to availability): portion of cheese or dried sausage soup apple tart chocolate bars / energy bars hot and cold drinks A dormitory with 21 beds is available (reservation required) with half-board system (overnight stay, fondue + dessert, breakfast). Services outside staffed periods During the week (not staffed except during holidays), the common room and dormitory remain open. It is strongly advised to announce your arrival in advance even during the week. Available: firewood pots filled with water (not drinkable without boiling) blankets in the dormitory a little plastic tableware (emergency use) For those staying overnight, a contribution to the chalet's expenses is requested. Please place the amount due in cash in the mailbox (see price list). Payment by cheque is not accepted. Languages spoken: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish.
