Good to know

Large two-storey stone building built in the 18th century. It served as a gendarmerie post to combat illegal logging in the 19th century. The upper floor consists of a private, closed section and a large empty space. The ground floor has a large dining room with three tables. Three cupboards contain glasses, cups, plates and cutlery as well as several pots, not to mention what visitors decide to leave for their successors. Solar-powered lamps. Sink supplied by a rainwater cistern (not potable). Note that the toilets do not work in winter. Occupancy is limited to one day. Unless in distress, overnight stays are prohibited. If necessary, use must be shared with others. No reservations are accepted. Fire may only be lit in the stove, with all due precautions; any wood used must be supplemented with dead wood found in the surrounding forest. When leaving the cabin, leave it clean and take away your waste and empty bottles. The municipality or state foresters reserve the right to monitor compliance with these rules and take appropriate measures if necessary to prevent any misuse.
