Access is exclusively on foot. From Pré Bouillet, either join the cross-country ski tracks and follow the GR (which passes by the hut), or go to the end of the forest roads, a little to the north, between the Gralet and the Poutouille, and return south via the ridges. Approximately 2 hours from Pré Bouillet, likely 1 hour from the station to the south. Approximately 2 hours to the Gralet, along the ridges. In winter, from the Chalet du Sac, the trail is marked with specific signs (allowing you to stay within the permitted area).
Former alpine farm from 1834, regularly renovated since the 1990s, in 2011, 2022, etc. The area is quite busy (close to Geneva). Consists of two parts: a refuge and a gîte. The refuge: open all year round. Sleeping capacity of 8 people (but only 6 mattresses available). Very good insulation of the roof and walls. Solar panels power the lighting and USB charging points for small devices. Furniture (table, 8 chairs), hearth, kitchen utensils and crockery, dish towels, a basin, a bucket, kindling, logs, tools for cutting wood. Latrines nearby. Non-potable water source in perfect working order outside. Contribution of 5 euros per adult and 3 euros per child (box in the wall) to help the association maintain and equip this very pleasant place. Solar electricity with 5V USB charger and an additional 5 euros requested per adult. A donation box is clearly visible next to the chargers. The gîte: reserved for residents of Péron, key to be collected at the town hall after booking online. 14 bunk beds upstairs. Wood-burning stove, gas stove, kitchen utensils and crockery, sponge and washing-up liquid, buckets, large table with benches. A second living area is under development.
