From the hamlet of Chasse, follow the marked PR trail (yellow) towards the hut and the Juan cirque. After the Juan hut, continue climbing in the valley, due west, up to 2000 metres altitude, then head southwest for 500-600 metres. The hut, built into the rocks, is barely visible.
Old hut with no equipment, with a beaten earth floor. The roof appears watertight. I mention it here mainly because of the beautiful 1868 inscription that can be read, carved into one of the rocks that forms a wall of the hut: "François Giraud 1868 Marie Raine du ciel elle nous dit que sert l'homme de gagne l'univers" (Sic!)
