From the [->1673], climb to Combe Brémont and follow the trail that goes up the right bank of the Ubaye to the bridge (2060 m) in view of the Ga shepherd's hut. After crossing the torrent, continue northeast, staying on the right bank for about 2 km, arriving at an expanse of the Ubaye winding through a chaos of alluvium: the Blave. Before the 2198 m point, a trail branches off to the right and climbs in switchbacks on the left bank of the Ubaye to enter the Béal de Rubren valley. The hut, built on a small terrace after a pile of large boulders, is reached. It takes about 3 hours from Maljasset.
This shepherd's hut consists of a main room with a 2-place bed with mattress, a fireplace, table and benches. There is a second room with two additional sleeping places. Numerous kitchen utensils and large pots are available. La Bergère provides wood and a few blankets for hikers. The hut is fairly well insulated. Thanks to contributors, there is now a stove, which does not change the fact that there is not a single piece of wood nearby. It was occupied by a shepherd from late May to mid-October. Water is available in the stream below. It can be useful for shortening trips to the Bric de Rubren, Tête de Malacoste, etc...
