From Seyne, drive up the D900 towards Col de Maure, then take a left turn just before the pass onto the D657 towards the hamlets of Maure. Drive about 3 km until the road becomes a forest track and ends. Leave your car and follow a mule trail uphill in switchbacks until you see the hut, which you reach after crossing the stream. A standard vehicle can drive without problems to the 1510 point (starting point of the trail to the Cabane des Mulets along the torrent de la Blanche) and park there. From this point, where there is a warning sign for a dangerous track, a not too low vehicle (SUV type) can drive about 700 m further up to the bend where the track crosses the torrent de Pertus. The track is stony, steep but not too eroded. There is also space to park here, and about 800 m remain to the hut. The remaining 3 or 4 steep and rutted hairpin bends are only passable with a proper 4x4, and this is also the area where stones fall onto the track, so large slabs may block the way.
This former alpine pasture hut has been very well restored by the municipality of Seyne and accommodates groups and hikers in a spacious room. The hut is closed in winter, from November to March. The possibilities from this hut, as a starting or ending point, are numerous: either on a route for a tour of the Estrop via Col La Pierre and then the Vautreuil valley, or via the south towards Couloubroux and Mariaud / Roger Carle refuge. You can also climb to Roche-Close, whose ridge overlooks the hut (caution: crumbling terrain, poor rock: it is at the limit between hiking and climbing!) via a detour on the north-northeast flank, or one of the outcrops of the long ridge leading northwest to the Dormillouse battery.
