Access from the West via the hamlet of La Favière (800m of elevation gain). Access from the South via Montagne de la Selle (Sentier des Trois Pâturages).
Hut closed outside the summer grazing period. Below to the East, a stream flows and allows for water refill (check if water is still present during the summer period). The terrain around the hut is entirely on a slope. It is quite difficult to pitch a tent nearby. The alpine pasture of Cabane de la Selle, a few hundred meters to the South, seems more suitable for bivouacking. Numerous herds in summer with guard dogs. Otherwise, the area is particularly wild with an extra touch in autumn (burning larch forest and deer rutting).
