Several (all) paths lead to the Pasquier hut! From Villars Heyssier, take the gorges of Saint Pierre, at the Congerman hut, head towards the Col de l'Orgeat then Le Grand Coyer or via the Petit Coyer (from the Congerman hut onwards.) (4 to 6 hours depending on snow conditions) From Ondre, head towards the Col de l'Orgeat then the Grand Coyer. (4 hours) From l'Orgeas, there are sections (steep slopes) that are tricky in summer, tense with compacted snow and I believe impossible with fresh snow... Similarly, if there are heavy rains, crossing certain gullies can become complicated and dangerous!
This is a hut that is open when the shepherd is not there (winter), but there is a second hut next to it with a stove, which may be available for hikers in summer. There is a stove and proper mattresses, electricity (solar panel) but the lighting was not working in April 2025, along with cutlery, plates, pots, magazines, slippers. Water is sourced from a collection point (high up, below the baisse du Detroit), and pipes bring water to the hutside (summer). In winter, the connection is cut about 100m above the hut (there is a plastic tank). You can retrieve water from the collection point if needed. There is plenty of wood nearby.
