From Colmar les Alpes, and the parking at the pont de la Serre: take the sentier des lacs Lignin via the ravin de Bressenges. Upon reaching around 2200 m, at the exit of the ravine, follow sheep trails to the east, then north, onto the balcony of the Clot de l'Aï, below the Cougnasse and the pas de l'Ane. Follow the trails that lead to the two cabins.
Former shepherd's cabin of the Clot de l'Aï before the construction of the new cabin, closed, 50 m away. Very well-maintained and insulated building, roof redone, a lower bunk, table, benches, stove. Some belongings belonging to the owner are stored here and there. By squeezing in, four people can sleep (2 on the ground and 2 on the lower bunk). Very well located for climbing to the Caïras, view of the plateau de Lignin and the Coyer, chamois and marmots. There is a dry fountain next to the new cabin. No significant water source on the plateau of the Clot de l'Aï. Water supply recommended towards Lignin (fountain at the cabin, lakes, streams).
