Park at Col du Garabeil (between Escouloubre and Roquefort de Sault). Head south on the forest track and follow it for 9 km. Take a left twice in succession, 100 m apart, in the middle of the route (when reaching a false flat). Still check the map, as there are many branches. Don’t tell anyone, but the track is fully drivable and open to cars. Better: go by bike with the family from Col du Garabeil. There is some elevation gain but it is very manageable.
A little gem with few equivalents, even in the Alps. A large fireplace for roasting a whole pig. A small stove (bring your own gas canister) and a few pots. A broom. A large table for a feast with friends. An upstairs area with 1 double mattress + 1 single mattress. Everything is clean and dry. Plenty of wood nearby. Water may be an issue: there is a small stream 300 m to the south, which may not flow at the end of the season.
