Access by foot only, either from the GR20 or via the cairned and waymarked trail ascending from Orto and Soccia (via Lake Creno).

Good to know

Shelter built in 1978, enlarged and renovated in 2001. About thirty places on wooden bunks with mattresses. Staffed during the summer season (mid-May to mid-October approximately): meals, grocery, toilets, electricity, overnight stays according to the PNRC rates. Unstaffed: dormitory accessible, kitchen area (gas cooker, basic cutlery), but toilets closed/heated. Masonry fountain almost permanent, a few metres east of the shelter entrance.
