- Take the road to the col de la bataille, stop at the start of the forest road to Malatra, in a bend. Follow the road, which is flat for 30 minutes until the hut. - To come from Font d'Urle: follow the red and white marked trail descending from the pas de l'infernet (which runs along the forest in its final section): this is the GR 93. - Coming from the refuge d'Ambel, the path is marked red at the start (in the forest) and follows the edge of the forest once in the plain of Ambrel. Then follow the treeline and barbed wire until one of the gates, a trail joins the private trail leading to the hut. Access via the col de la bataille is prohibited in winter due to high avalanche risk. Refer to this discussion.
