From the col du Rousset, in 2h30 via the ridges (pretty): from the exit of the tunnel, go down the road a little and take the path carved into the cliff, then follow it for 5 minutes in the forest before cutting through the woods towards the south-east to reach the ridges and follow them to the col. Via Chamaloc, in 2h30-3H: you need to reach the GR a little below Chamaloc, which is not easy to find at the bottom between two fields, but after that it is well marked and climbs gradually to the col. At the col: the hut is hidden in a clearing impossible to spot from the col. It can be reached by following the ridge a little, or, if conditions are bad, it is better to take the detour via the road and at the fountain/forest hut, follow the 4x4 track leading to the hut. From the But Saint Génix: it is not indicated on the signpost and the start of the path is barely visible when coming from the But Saint Génix (maybe more obvious in summer?). You need to look at the signpost in the other direction to identify it (But de l'Aiglette -> But Saint Génix).
Hexagonal wooden hut, single room. It is identical in every way to the refuge des Chaumailloux (hauts plateaux). A large table and bunk beds. The whole setup is well thought out and pleasant. A permanent fountain 15 minutes away (le Plainet) via the forest path, at its arrival on the road. Water about 1km to the north: http://www.refuges.info/point/2194 A saw Mobile network: weak signal outside (Orange) on the new landing; several attempts may be needed, but it eventually works (text and voice) with a risk of cuts.
