Easily accessible via the trail (not a GR but marked on IGN 1/50 000 maps) coming from the Espingo refuge. Upon arriving at the Espingo refuge (1967 m) from Lake Oô or the Hourquette des Hounts Secs, turn right to follow the Espingo lake northwards. Cross the bridge spanning the torrent through which the lake flows toward the Oô waterfall. Continue straight ahead on the trail that climbs onto the ridge overlooking the Arrouge valley. The hut (2120 m) is located on the first grassy ledge, just one kilometre from Espingo lake.
Single-room hut about 10 m² with an accessible loft. A door faces south and a window faces east. Both are metal and close securely. The fireplace works perfectly. Firewood is usually stacked to the right of the fireplace. Remember to add more. In 2019, there were 2 mattresses, 2 tables and 2 benches. A saw was left available for firewood. The hut is basic but very pleasant and in perfect condition. The fireplace draws well and firewood is easily accessible about a hundred metres from the hut. A discreet spring is located about a hundred metres above the hut (still in the Arrouge valley), emerging from a small rubber pipe flush with the stream. Reportedly used sporadically by a shepherd until early September. More often used by hunters and hikers.
