Mountain hut located in the Val d'Astau, at the entrance to the beautiful Cirque d'Espingo. Path practicable in summer: From the Granges d'Astau car park, head south along the GR10 road, closed to traffic. The road turns into a track and then a path, leading up through a series of switchbacks to Lac d'Oô at 1504 m. The path continues southeast from the lake towards Col d'Espingo at 1967 m. Cross the pass; the hut is about 100 metres west of the pass.
On the ascent above Lac d'Oô, you will cross two large gullies where streams often flow, sometimes buried under large snowfields that can persist late into the season. These sections can be tricky and present a risk of snow bridges: caution. Facilities: - 60 beds - Meals - Drinks - Shower (for long-distance hikers and guests staying at least two consecutive nights) - Baggage room (gas)
