Parking right next to the farm "Milk and Bouse", place called "Forgeassoud dessus" (990 m altitude) in Saint Jean de Sixt. Follow the signs indicating "Le Suet". Path easy to follow, sometimes steep in some sections. Allow between 1h and 2h depending on pace. Around 1500 m, you start encountering a lapiaz zone, a red marking indicates the path. In this area, it is advised not to leave the path if snow is present as it may hide many very dangerous holes typical of this type of terrain.
Tiny but charming small wooden cabin with a tin roof. Very cramped, it would barely fit one person to sleep! The door and a tiny 25 cm x 25 cm window will be the only sources of light. There are two distinct parts: the entrance room (two-thirds of the cabin) and behind a small door, the wood storage (the remaining third). Even though it is impossible to take three steps inside the cabin due to its size, you will find an extraordinary assortment of items that would be impossible to describe here: I counted no less than 20 pots and pans! There is a stove, untested, which despite its visible state of disrepair seems to work. The cabin is well stocked with kindling. A small table, wooden logs as chairs, a small brush, 2 brooms without handles, 3 shovels, 2 saws. The cabin's equipment is inversely proportional to its size! No water nearby, a small spring flows 600 m of elevation lower, around 1065 m, almost at the start of the path (fountain indicated on IGN maps). Biscuit lovers will find a green tin box containing a good quantity of candles and matches. For decoration, everyone adds their own personal touch, from garlands to small teddy bears... And one always wonders where the cat is, despite the presence of 10 litter bags (empty)...
