From Allèves, take the path to Figlia heading towards Tours Saint Jacques and Chalets de Gruffy. The path starts heading east to avoid a rocky outcrop and then turns west towards Figlia. The access path is remarkable, made of limestone slabs laid by Italian workers a century ago: at the time, the path was used to bring down hay on specially designed sledges. Along the path, you will also find several wooden hay barns with very typical architecture.
Water: possibly downstream of the cabin around elevation 960m, along the path. More easily: there is a source [->4733] 2 or 3 minutes' walk from the cabin, at 1175m, by taking the small path that joins D110 (the road to Col de Leschaux leading up to Semnoz). Caution: the water flow is very low and may not always be running. As of October 2019, this chalet is closed to the public.
