From the village of Les Contamines via the combe d'Armancette and the Claudius Bernard trail or from Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge via Nant Borrant, reach the [->350] via forest paths. Once at the Tré-la-Tête refuge, enter the Tré-la-Tête glacier valley, climb the moraine, spot a blue waymarking and follow a trail through [->10597] to the refuge. Allow 5 hours from the valley bottom.
Refuge rebuilt in 1997. The former refuge ([->10483]) was located higher up and to the east. From the refuge, mountaineering access to the Tré-la-Tête and Miage domes sectors. On foot, it is possible to approach the Tré-la-Tête glacier as far as the site of the former [->10483], but caution is required, especially in bad weather (rocky area, nearby glacial zone, poorly marked and difficult-to-find trail).
