The Cabane de Pierre Baudinard is an unguarded mountain hut located in the Hautes-Alpes. It is publicly owned.

At a glance

Access

Starting from Villar-Joli, a farm track, then a mule track, (yellow markings) head NW towards the Mas valley. At point 1485 m (post + sign), turn left. The trail now climbs roughly SW towards the large collapsed block of cliffs dominating the area. It is the best cairn imaginable: even with snow or fog, if you come across it, you just have to walk around it, the hut is nestled on the S side. Between one hour and 70 minutes from Villar-Joli.

WARNING!! The hut has been closed to the public since it was restored in 2022.
