Access

On the banks of the GR57 between the Refuge du Chardonnet and the Col du Chardonnet. It can also be reached from the Col de Roche Noire. Close to the small lake of Châtelard.

Good to know

From memory, there are two shelters of this type on the edge of the lake, on either side. Does this shelter even deserve its place on the refuge-info website? Extremely basic shelter, for emergency use, a triangular shape with one side open, earthen floor. Very uninviting. Space for at most two people. Low enough that you cannot stand upright inside. Corrugated iron roof that appears watertight. Earthen floor. Comfort close to zero but offers some protection against rain or in case of an emergency!
